Due to the high incidence and prevalence of oral diseases in the world, coupled with the fact that the incidence rate of the poor is higher than that of other socioeconomic groups, oral diseases have become an important public health problem. Most dental treatment is done to prevent or treat the two most common oral diseases, dental caries and periodontal disease (gum disease or pyorrhea). Common treatments include dental restorations, extractions and surgical extractions, calculus removal and root canal therapy.
